Sarah Thunberg, of Manchester, joins the Department of Business and Economic Affairs as a principal planner in the Office of Planning and Development. Among her responsibilities include coordinating and implementing the state’s Floodplain Management Program.
After earning her Master’s degree in atmospheric science from the University of Alaska/Fairbanks, Thunberg began her career as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine.
With experience watching flooding disasters unfold in real time at the NWS, Sarah says she is excited to use that background to help communities improve their resiliency to flooding.
